Fall Fence

Here are some pictures of my "new" old fence that were taken by hubby's cell phone.   We re-purposed some old fence posts and made a cute little vignette coming in the driveway.  These are just three of the four pots of flowers that Mr. Fix-It surprised me with yesterday.    He bought me two more today that are dark red.  He is so sweet.

Kitchen Chaos

I have been having a wonderful evening with Mr. Fix-It and enjoying the fire pit.  This was after we went through the woods and pulled up some old fence posts and made a cute little fence "thingy" at the curve in our driveway. It was dark when we finished so there are no pictures yet.  He surprised me with some gorgeous mums to put out.  I'll get some pictures of the fence and the mums tomorrow.  I need to get me a few pumpkins too.

Day 2 of the Sneak Peek....

Mr. Fix-It is not happy that I am posting this.

This was the beginning of the remodel.  Notice there are no bottom cabinets.  Remember this place was a foreclosure and sat empty for 6 years.  At some point and time they were stolen along with the heat pump, water heater, bathroom vanities, etc, etc...the only thing that was left was the island in the kitchen and these upper cabinets.

A Sneak Peek!

Since the kitchen renovation is on hold I had a weekend to myself.  My mother has finished her radiation treatments...34 treatments to be exact...so my Dad has taken her home.  That is all she has ever asked for is to get to go home again.   They went up on Friday and I went up on Saturday to take some of her medical equipment.  The mountains were beautiful!

I did not want to leave.  On Saturday I did have the opportunity to run into the" big town" of Andrews for a little shopping.  I bought a pretty set of boxes that I think I will put in my bathroom.  

I have also decided that I will go ahead and post pics of what we have done of the remodel this week since it will be a while before we finish. So here is a peek...

The Sink Has Sank Us.

Well, we are at a standstill on the kitchen remodel.  Grrrrrrrrr....One little thing...the kitchen sink has brought us to a complete standstill.  We had chosen a sink a few months ago.  Black, composite granite....so nice.  We go back to Lowes to pick it up and they no longer carry them in stock.  You now have to order them and it takes two weeks for the sink to get here...Grrrrr.

We can not do anything else till it comes in.   Boo Hoo.

Did I Mention the Wedding Yet?

My daughters will be 25 years old this November.  One of my daughters, Jennifer was married a little over a year ago and now we are planning the wedding of my other daughter Jessica .  I have felt badly because shortly after she became engaged was when we found out about my Mom's illness.  I have been wrapped up in taking care of my Mom and felt like I have really let Jess down.  I have not been able to give her the help she deserved with planning her wedding.

Well, this past Friday we visited a local farm and found the place she wants to have her wedding.  I am so excited!  All I want is for her to be happy and for everything to fall in place for her.  Here are a few shots of the future wedding site.  Now if she can set a date....her and her fiancée are thinking May.

These were taken with my cell phone so they are not the best.  We visit again in about a week so I will take my Nikon and get some more shots.

Weekend Warriors

After remodeling various parts of several houses many, many times before, I know and expect that "nothing ever goes as planned."  After a weekend of working hard putting in a kitchen we are about 1 1/2 days behind where we thought we would be at this time.  

Meet Ms. Maggie, my poodle...she has been supervising the whole job.  She is staying on top of things, literally.

Coffee Laced with Happy.

Having my morning coffee...just chillin'...NOT.  My kitchen starts going in today and I am a little more than happy and excited!  I will take lots of pictures and post them when it is finished.  Just wanted to say "Good Morning!"
